Notice on status of Vlore Port Concession

Zumax regret that the impression has been given that the Albanian Goverrment have actually awarded the concession for the port development at Vlore to Zumax AG whereas the position is that it is still under consideration and they have not yet decided on the nature and form of the concession.

We are aware that a number of companies offering a range of specialist services have approached or are considering approaching the Zumax Corporate HQ in Switzerland with a view to being considered for any future bid lists for developmental work.

Zumax are happy to receive notification from interested parties on the understanding that those parties realise that Zumax will not be able to make any formal approaches to potential contractors until such time as the concession has been granted.

Vlore, Ascertained the conditions for the Container Port

Premier Berisha: Vlora, a major port in the Mediterranean

The Council of Ministers approved decision about the contracting authority to build the container port in Pylli i Sodes, Vlora

The Council of Ministers approved today the decision about the contracting authority to build the container port in Pylli i Sodes, Vlora, as well as approval of the bonus to the company.

Premier Berisha pointed to the deep waters of Vlora that favor its transformation into a major port of the Mediterranean.

A big British company has taken an interest in building one of the largest ports of the Mediterranean in Vlora town. Vlora is mentioned hundreds of times as the most suitable place for building the largest port of the country and that because of its deep waters.
But, it belonged to our government to fulfill this dream. Vlora will have a major container port of the Mediterranean. Its location will be at Pylli i Sodes area.

This area, said the premier, will soon be provided with the necessary transportation infrastructure.

Soon this area will have the best infrastructure, a four lane highway, the railway, the necessary transportation infrastructure while the airport will be an option. In fact, Vlora is transformed in this way into one of the main ports for development of the country. The company has done hard work. Along with the port, there will also be the free zone and we should consider the possibility of providing the promised infrastructure, said the premier.
